gaming laptop
Im not playing computer games like I used to, and am very content with my 4-5 hours per week of WoW. I must be getting old
I have a large computer system, full tower 19" screen, and am thinking of scaling back to a laptop that will do a middlin job of running WoW (concentrating on 1 gig ram though). From what I understand, I could probably get away with low processor speed, 64mb vid ram, and a gig ram. Anyone with more know how able to direct me further?

Dude!!! I didn't know you still existed.
In my opinion, you need a pretty kick ass laptop, if you want to really enjoy some of these games. I have a pretty decent laptop, and it comes nowhere near the performnce of my desktop. You can "probably" get away with what your describing, but I would never skimp on the processor. 1gig of RAM is a good start.

I know whay your saying Jobo...but Im at that point where 90% of my time is surfing/EXCEL/WORD...and 10% of my time is gaming. My price point is less that $1500, and I have seen many laptops around that price with one gig, 1.5 gig processor....but I dont know if built-in memory will work, or I need one of them ATI 9700 machines...
Im sure one of those laptop gaming guys will be here eventually PS Yeah...been kinda absent lately. My Wife left Jan 18th...so there are some rough readjustment hardships goin on...and lots o overtime and kids to nurture

You can buy pretty nice Laptops at Costco, and you can buy Dell and HP laptops with a dsicount through the Costco website.
If you don't have a memnbership, just use someone elses.

Would not...
Play EQ/EQ2 games on a laptop unless you wanna buy top of the line gaming laptop ...With that said...
Worlds of Warcraft is easily played on even a lower end system, I would say you would be safe going with any laptop just above the required specs. As far as the video card is concerned, just make sure whatever video card is onboard on the laptop is DirectX9 enabled and your good to go ...but again these are opinions based upon what I have seen the game pull from my regular desktop system, and from seeing played on a laptop that I know is not Top notch.
